I welcome the government’s response to my questions in Parliament to allow daily instead of hourly alcohol sales data for Kings Cross restaurants, part of the Kings Cross Plan of Management. Compliance is almost impossible for restaurants, especially smaller venues. With breaches included in the ‘three strikes’ system – aimed at cracking down on venues that allow assaults and serve minors and drunk patrons – low risk restaurants that close before midnight were getting massive fines and at risk of closing. Making Kings Cross unviable for restaurants would not have improved safety or amenity. My question and the Minister's answer is HERE.
