The National Housing Finance and Investment Corporation reports that less than 10 per cent of rental homes are affordable for the bottom 40 per cent of income earners in Sydney.

The bottom 60 per cent of potential first home buyers can afford only 10 to 20 per cent of properties in Sydney. More and more people are being forced into homelessness and we desperately need more social and affordable housing.
