I’ve asked the Premier to urgently fast-track NSW Government small business support grants, provide clear timeframes for grant approvals so business operators can make informed decisions and continue advocating for the reintroduction of JobKeeper payments.

My request follows many messages from small business operators facing significant financial uncertainty after six weeks of restrictions and no guarantee of when the city can reopen. Small business owners say they have to decide whether to permanently close to avoid further loss and financial ruin. My representations > HERE.  

I met with the minister’s staff and Service NSW managers who acknowledged delays as a result of Service NSW being swamped with requests for information and grant applications. They told me that department is working hard to catch up, funding will be backdated, and evidence requirements will be easier.
