I support the extension of stay-at-home orders as vital to keeping us safe and know it will be tough for many residents, workers and businesses.

I continue to raise concerns about gaps, confusion and impacts, and to advocate for urgent and increased financial support for workers, businesses and sole traders. I hope further government help will be announced soon. Call Service NSW for details about existing business support, phone 13 77 88 or online: > HERE.

Stay-at-home restrictions have been tightened to reduce interaction, including no visitors and masks in common areas: > HERE. Please reach out if you need mental health support, phone 1800 011 511.

I’ve heard from a number of residents about loud and disruptive utility works being carried out during the stay-at-home orders and have asked the responsible ministers to postpone non-essential work on water, gas and electricity during these periods. Ausgrid says they will only carry out critical work: > HERE. I’ve also asked the minister to review exemptions allowing longer construction work hours to better protect residents required to be at home all the time.

Getting exercise and fresh air is important and I thank the environment minister for responding to my request by closing Mrs Macquaries Road for pedestrians during the restrictions. Internal roads in Centennial Park have also been closed helping to give people the ability to socially distance in the public domain.

Let's work together to celebrate and protect our great city!
