The Legislative Assembly passed the Voluntary Assisted Dying Bill 52 votes to 32 on Friday after a marathon debate late into the night on Thursday.

Hostile amendments did not get support, but we adopted changes that will improve the legislation. The vote reflects the strong community support for this reform and sends a clear message to the Legislative Council for that House to also support the bill.
