Water Worries

Water Worries

The drought and record breaking high temperatures has led to reduced water supplies and greater demand. Metropolitan Sydney used almost 600,000 mega (million) litres of water last year and our dam levels have sunk below 60 per cent, triggering operation of the desalination plant. Yet our water restrictions are not as tough as they were during last decade’s drought and wastewater recycling has only increased by around two per cent in almost a decade.

Last year I asked questions in Parliament pushing for more action to reduce water demand and develop sustainable supplies. The government has some good initiatives but they need to be drastically expanded and I am committed to pushing for further action if I am returned after the next election. My questions are HERE

Let's work together to celebrate and protect our great city!
