Welfare Rights
My community recognition statement in parliament last year recognised 40 years of the Welfare Rights Centre helping people with Centrelink and income support payments > HERE. They played a vital role helping vulnerable people treated badly during the shocking Robodebt program.
While the centre’s work is largely about federal government law and policy, I’ve advocated for NSW government financial support, acknowledging the centre’s work with domestic, family and financial abuse victim survivors who then need state government help. You can donate to support the Welfare Rights Centre’s work with vulnerable people > HERE.
