The government has released concept plans for the third stage of the disgraceful Westconnex motorway, labelled ‘Sydney Gateway’. This adds another route linking the St Peters Interchange to the domestic and international airport terminals. Major changes to the roads around the airport are proposed, plus three kilometres of the Port Botany freight line duplicated. Detailed proposals and the planning application are not yet prepared but we know taxpayers will foot the bill.

The project will cement private motor vehicle transport to the airport to the detriment of the railway line that is already operating, particularly with private stations making this an expensive option. Details: HERE
