Logging Threats

Logging Threats

I’ve asked the government to reject alarming proposals that put the State’s biodiversity at risk. Proposals would allow environmentally destructive intense logging and clearfelling in State forests and commercial logging in the Brigalow and Nandewar State conservation areas. Earlier this year I asked the government to withdraw plans to burn biomass from State forests to generate electricity.

Australia has the highest rate of extinction of any developed nation and the destruction and fragmentation of native habitat is a major threat. Now is the time to strengthen not weaken protections. My letter to the Minister is HERE and you can read the report HERE.

Let's work together to celebrate and protect our great city!
