As promised during the election campaign, the government has merged former departments DCJ Housing with the Land and Housing Corporation and Aboriginal Housing Office to form Homes NSW, which will manage social housing tenants and properties, homelessness services, affordable housing and key worker accommodation in NSW. I called for this approach which I hope will deliver faster repairs and more responsive action for social housing applicants and tenants > HERE.

I’ve met with Minister Rose Jackson a number of times, giving feedback about what is not working in the social housing system and suggesting changes. We have also discussed the urgent need for more affordable housing in the city for the frontline and key workers our city depends on.
The minister’s interest in reforming the system is very welcome and I hope we see positive changes soon.
