I joined residents and community leaders to slam the Tennis NSW proposal exposed last week, for a 10,000-seat stadium on Moore Park. It comes only months after the Sydney Cricket and Sports Ground Trust revealed it wants a 65,000-patron stadium next to Kippax Lake. As adjacent populations surge we must protect what public green open space is left to ensure future communities are healthy. Our governments must tell sporting bodies once and for all that the Centennial Parklands are off limits and I will be calling for this when my motion opposing Moore Park alienations comes up for debate in Parliament.
