The State Government proposes to sell 49 per cent of the electricity poles and wires network on 99 year lease next year, with the majority of funds to go into new infrastructure.
 

We urgently need public transport especially the second harbour rail crossing but that is already in the Long Term Master Plan and it is difficult to see how the proposed sale would fund all the projects touted including in health, education and roads. I’m concerned about impacts on budget income, renewable energy and electricity prices and have asked the Premier for a briefing on projects, budgets and safeguards. My letter to the Premier is HERE.
