I have met with government to raise community concerns about the closure of the Powerhouse. I have been told that the Powerhouse will continue to present programs in other venues, with access to some of the collection at Castle Hill and staff relocated to multiple locations. Safely moving the collection out of the Ultimo site will take between six and eight months and must be done before any work begins.

Infrastructure NSW has the proposed design for its Powerhouse Revitalisation Project for an “applied arts and sciences program exhibiting the renowned Powerhouse Collection” on exhibition for comment before developing a State Significant project for planning approval.
