I hope the inquiry into companion animal breeding leads to strong recommendations that prevent unregulated and cruel breeding and the destruction of healthy abandoned pets. I am encouraged by the Terms of Reference which include considering a ban on the sale of pets in pet shops as proposed by Clover Moore’s bill, as well as committee membership which includes my independent colleague Greg Piper and Animal Justice Party MLC Mark Pearson.
 
I encourage everyone who cares about companion animals and wants to stop puppy farming and impulse pet buying to make a submission by 15 June. Details HERE
