I’ve agreed to introduce Fred Nile’s Aboriginal Cultural Heritage (Culture is Identity) Bill into the Legislative Assembly if it passes the Upper house. This bill would recognise and preserve Aboriginal cultural heritage, by establishing an Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Council to protect Aboriginal cultural heritage. This could give precedence over mining and development and prevent cases like the Rio Tinto destruction of the ancient Juukan Gorge caves.  

The Legislative Council has referred the bill to an inquiry and you can make submissions by 15 September > HERE.
