After the SBS program Filthy, Rich and Homeless, many people contacted me wanting to do something practical to help homeless people. It is inspiring to know so many people care. Here are some practical ways you can help:

The City of Sydney has a good list of homelessness organisations that could do with donations of money, goods or your time: HERE

StreetSmart provides a platform for fundraising through groups and businesses like leaving a donation at restaurants, with funds going to smaller local groups: HERE

Homes for Homes invests in new low cost housing: HERE

Homeground Homes is a non-profit real estate agent for people priced out of the mainstream market: HERE

Ultimately, more government action is needed to build more homes and I intend to keep pushing for this in Parliament.
