I supported government legislation to create a new fund and advisory board to increase childcare access and affordability

The aim of the legislation is to help more women get back into the workforce, but all parents will benefit. There is no question that women’s careers are disproportionately impacted from having children, leaving them less financially secure and causing them to miss out on promotions and leadership roles.

During debate, I called for other measures to promote workforce participation including cultural change for inclusion and diversity, better salaries in traditionally female jobs, and a move away from focusing policy on family stereotypes. My contribution to the bill > HERE.
