CITYTALK: The Voice to Parliament

CITYTALK: The Voice to Parliament

Australia’s constitution fails to recognise that First Nations people lived on this land for tens of thousands of years before European settlement, ignoring a major part of our history and the foundation of the nation. It is time to resolve that error and enshrine First Nations people’s involvement in laws and policies that affect them through a Voice to Parliament. The referendum provides us with an unprecedented opportunity to heal the past and move forward together. I encourage everyone to learn more about the referendum, proposed changes to the constitution and what a Voice would mean from experts and community leaders at the CityTalk event 6.30-8.30pm Wednesday 19 July at Centennial Hall, Sydney Town Hall.

Hosted by Stan Grant, with Minister for Indigenous Australians Linda Burney, Lord Mayor Clover Moore AO, Kerry O’Brien, Thomas Mayo, University of Sydney Constitutional Law Professor Anne Twomey AO, Macquarie University Law School Radical Centre Reform Lab director Dr Shireen Morris, and Tribal Warrior Association CEO Shane Phillips. Tickets are free > HERE.

Let's work together to celebrate and protect our great city!
