Cockle Bay Tower & Landbridge

Cockle Bay Tower & Landbridge

Plans are on exhibition for a 43 storey tower and landbridge over the Western distributor in Cockle Bay between Darling Harbour and Darling Park.

It includes demolition of the Crescent Garden, Market Street Bridge, Cycle and pedestrian connection from Pyrmont Bridge and the former monorail station.

The new commercial building would have four publicly accessible podium levels and 35 levels of commercial office space. The landbridge includes a publicly accessible northern park and a smaller southern park from both Darling Park and Darling Harbour. While there is some public benefit and I am concerned that commercial development continues to concentrate around the harbour.
