Confidence and Supply
Following the four by-elections, the government is now in minority and needs crossbench or opposition support to pass legislation in the Legislative Assembly.
Independent colleagues Greg Piper, Joe McGirr and I met with the Premier last week and agreed to continue providing the government supply and confidence. This means we will pass the budget so government services can continue, and oppose motions of no-confidence, except in the case of corruption and maladministration. We will vote on all other legislation and motions based on merit.
This is an important agreement that ensures stability of government while retaining our independence. We had a similar arrangement with previous Premier Gladys Berejiklian.
