Eastern Suburbs High School

Eastern Suburbs High School

High schools in the inner city and inner east are set to come under increasing pressure from future development including at Edgecliff, Blackwattle Bay, Waterloo and Green Square and it is essential that we plan for more capacity. The eastern suburbs particularly have few public options with existing high schools at or near capacity and difficult to access with public transport.

Together with independent MP for Wentworth Allegra Spender, we got the previous government to commit to consulting on public high school education in the east, but the scope of the inquiry was overly narrow, looking only at Randwick Boys and Randwick Girls highs. While these schools provide important opportunities to build capacity in the short term, we need to start planning for further into the future to ensure we can secure land. We have now asked the new minister to expand the remit of the investigation to considering a new high school.

It remains important to engage with the current consultation process both within and outside its scope. Submissions are due by 12 May. Email [email protected]  and make it clear that you want a new public high school in the east or completing the community survey on proposed changes to Randwick Boys High School and Randwick Girls High School > HERE

Let's work together to celebrate and protect our great city!
