I welcome the Premier’s commitment to flying the Aboriginal flag permanently on the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

I congratulate Cheree Toka on her successful campaign, which I supported with petitions and questions in Parliament. While this is symbolic and we need practical action as well, it will be a constant reminded of First Nations people and the oldest continuous living culture.

I intend to follow up about flying the Aboriginal flag on other public sites as well as continuing to push for adoption of the Uluru Statement from the Heart’s Makaratta and Voice, along with investment in Closing the Gap.
