School Infrastructure officers briefed me on their response to the community concerns about redirecting the main north-south cycleway during redevelopment of the Fort Street Public School.

This will save a diversion for bike riders and retain on-street parking.

I understand that the Cahill Expressway air vent will be put underground, providing more play space for the school. Information: > HERE.

I’m pleased that the department has responded positively to the community campaign that had strong support from Lord Mayor Clover Moore, Clr Phillip Thalis and myself. Work should start in April, with the new school completed by the end of 2022.
