I have long opposed greyhound racing because the industry destroys thousands of dogs every year that don’t run fast enough while profiting from problem gambling. The Four Corners exposé showing trainers using live baiting – banned due to its savagery – shows animal welfare is not a priority for the industry or regulator. I’ve received hundreds of emails on this matter and encourage people to write to the Premier and Leader of the Opposition asking them to end the cruelty.
