The National Art School provides a unique studio-based form of arts education that has produced generations of successful Sydney artists. I was proud to join staff, students, alumni and supporters to save the school from past proposals to amalgamate it into the university system and develop its land. Now with the school safe into the future, it is looking at new revenue streams to build certainty and sustainability through venue hire. It will put a proposal into council but first wants to hear from local residents. The school will hold a community information webinar on Tuesday 8 December, 6pm – 8:30pm.
