Our nurses, paramedics, doctors and hospital workers have been doing the heavy lifting during the pandemic, working long hours, under intense pressure, in uncomfortable PPE.

Many feel burnt-out and unsupported and are worried their working conditions are the new norm. Growing numbers of workers are leaving the sector. Last week nurses and paramedics took industrial action and are trying to negotiate fairer conditions that recognise their difficult work environments.

Our healthcare and hospital systems relies on a properly resourced workforce and in Parliament I called on the government to support healthcare workers with pandemic and fair pay and safe working conditions. My speech: HERE.
