Help End Greyhound Racing

Help End Greyhound Racing

The government’s commitment to close the greyhound racing track at Wentworth Park when its lease ends in 2027 may be a win for public open space but it does not represent any winding back of this archaic industry. A new racing track is proposed for the Tweed region despite report after report exposing ongoing cruelty, track deaths and injuries. Information on deaths and injuries on greyhound tracks: > HERE.

Animal Liberation has set up an e-petition to oppose the plan and needs 20,000 signatures by 27 May for the issue to be debated in Parliament. The petition is sponsored by my crossbench colleague, the Greens Member for Ballina Tamara Smith. Please sign: > HERE
