Homelessness Week

Homelessness Week

The NSW Government is providing temporary accommodation for people sleeping rough during the lockdown in response to my request for urgent help, but a shortage of social and affordable housing means it is difficult for people experiencing or at risk of homelessness to secure a long-term safe home, particularly for women escaping domestic violence.

Homelessness Week 1-7 August 2021 aims to raise awareness of the impact of homelessness and educate communities on how you can make a difference: > HERE. Sign the petition calling for federal funding for domestic violence survivors to have a safe home: > HERE.

I welcome the NSW Government’s response to calls for help people seeking asylum and on temporary visas: > HERE and crisis accommodation for international students stranded in Australia without access to financial support: > HERE.

Join the Wayside live panel discussion ‘Voices from the Streets’ on Thursday 5 August at 7pm: > HERE

Let's work together to celebrate and protect our great city!
