I am worried that reports of homophobic assaults and abuse are on the rise in the inner city particularly at night. I have raised my concerns directly with the Surry Hills Police Commander who is now increasing police presence on Oxford Street. I’ve had positive reports of strong police presence and no incidents reported last weekend.
