I congratulate the Housing NSW District Manager for making the existing Housing Community Development Worker position permanent. Clover Moore convinced a previous Minister for Housing to provide a community worker to coordinate response to safety and amenity concerns in Surry Hills social housing, but the role has only been temporary. This is vital work and I’ve been pushing for a permanent position, and for more staff who can get out of the office and work with the community to get positive improvements.
