I welcome the start of remediation work to upper Kippax Lake. Event car parking has now been removed from this portion of Moore Park and new grass has been laid.

I hope that laws to remove all parking on Moore Park by the end of 2023 pass the upper house so that we can see the whole park thrive in the future.

The minister’s response to my questions about protecting wildlife around Kippax Lake refer to temporary signs that now warn owners to keep their dogs on a leash within 10 metres of ponds. The minister said that ranger patrols have also increased and there will be more education about dogs in the parklands > HERE. There are also plans to improve habitat, expand landscaping, upgrade the floating island and plant reed beds, along with clear definition of on- and off-leash dog areas around the lake > HERE.
