The developer has withdrawn the strongly opposed application to redevelop the former Bourbon site and I congratulate the Kings Cross community for its successful campaign. 

Responding to concerns, Lord Mayor Clover Moore referred plans to the council’s Design Advisory Panel which has recommended action to protect the character and diversity of the Cross in future including an urban design strategy for the area.

My submission is HERE argued that the proposal would have breached heritage and height controls, block light and views in neighbouring apartments would and add to traffic congestion.
