Landscaping Moore Park East

Landscaping Moore Park East

With a date now legislated to remove all car parking on Moore Park, Greater Sydney Parklands has released draft landscaping plans for Moore Park East for comment.

Parked cars have long eroded the grasslands and prevented any ability to landscape and beautify the park. Proposals in the draft plan include a new village green, more trees, nature play areas, seating, wayfinding and separation between community uses and high-performance sport.

The community has fought hard for removal of car parking on Moore Park, and I especially congratulate Saving Moore Park on their advocacy. The legislation passed earlier this year has already seen cars removed from the northern area of Moore Park East, with the area closer to Kippax Lake set for 31 December 2023, and EP3 opposite the Hordern Pavilion and Royal Hall of Industries set for 31 December 2025.

This plan promises to finally return this land to passive recreation. I encourage you to view the plans and provide input. You can complete the survey or send submissions direct > HERE.

Let's work together to celebrate and protect our great city!
