The Centennial Park and Moore Park Trust applies for approval for events on Moore Park every five years but the latest DA initially sought permanent approval and added car parking and SCG “fan zones” on parklands to the application. I made a submission last week however the Trust has amended the application and car parking has been removed and approval is again being sought for five years. 

The Moore Park Master Plan 2040 aims to remove car parking on the greens, and development approvals should not entrench a future of alienation from commercial events. The “fan zones” suspiciously coincided with the SCG’s plan to move its stadium closer to Moore Park and expand its crowd spill into the parklands and I opposed their inclusion, HERE. The City of Sydney Independent Hearing and Assessment Panel will make the final determination.
