Local MPs won’t reveal their amalgamation vote

Ryde MP Victor Dominello and Lane Cove MP Anthony Roberts want our local councils to retain ‘their identity’ but have stopped short of declaring how they will vote on the Government’s Fit For The Future policy after June 30.

...Independent Sydney MP Alex Greenwich last week introduced a motion that NSW Parliament opposes the amalgamation of councils that are financially sustainable and have the support of their communities.

Mr Greenwich also rejected the view that all public submissions need to be studied before MPs vote.
