With the Late Night Roundtables reporting last week and the Callinan Review to report later this month, in Parliament I asked the government to improve the city’s nightlife. We need to fine-tune laws as I continue to hear that live music and entertainment, and diversity are suffering. While the roundtable reports push more reviews and research, the minister said that the evidence he has seen indicates that safety benefits are likely the result of earlier cessation of service rather than the lockout, and that we need better late night public transport, which are in line with my previous submission.
