Refugee Limbo

Refugee Limbo

There are still refugees and people seeking asylum held in ‘detention’ after seven years – with no end in sight, deprived of freedom and a future. This includes 290 people held in Papua New Guinea and Nauru, plus over 1,000 women, men and children transferred to Australia for critical medical treatment and now in ‘transitory’ visa limbo. Over 200 of those people are held in immigration detention centres and ‘alternative places of detention’ or locked in hotels.

Support the call for the federal government to immediately release refugees and asylum seekers from detention and commit to resettle them by World Refugee Day 20 June 2021: > HERE.

Habibi is one of those people in detention. You can help sponsor him to get to Canada where he can make a new life: > HERE.

Let's work together to celebrate and protect our great city!
