I congratulate Lord Mayor Clover Moore and the City of Sydney for powering the council’s 75 parks, five swimming pools, 23,000 street lights and 115 libraries, community centres and office buildings through a 10 year contract with wind and solar farms. The move is the largest council program in the country and the City of Sydney leads the way on emissions reduction and putting emissions reduction into practice. Using renewable electricity suppliers Sapphire Wind Farm, Bomen Solar Farm and the community generator Repower Shoalhaven will also inject funds into those regions and save ratepayers $500,000 a year in electricity costs. Details: HERE
