I join the member for Newtown in thanking the Government for establishing this select committee and referring the Residential Tenancies Amendment (Rental Fairness) Bill 2023 to it. The recommendation by me, the member for Newtown and others came about because the sector wants to explore part of the legislation a little further. I think it is a sign of good, consultative government to look into bills in detail, and I thank the Government and the Minister for their willingness to do so. I look forward to being a part of the committee process.
