Sam Donni

Sam Donni

(Community Recognition Notices, 23 May 2023, Legislative Assembly, NSW Parliament)

On behalf of the Sydney electorate, I wish to thank Police Senior Constable Sam Donni for his 28 years of service to the community. Sam has been a vital help for vulnerable people in the Kings Cross Police Area Command as Crime Prevention Officer since he transferred in 2015 after terms as youth liaison officer in other commands. His work has been recognised in awards like the Betty Makin Youth Award and Kings Cross Rotary Police Officer of the Year. Police often see people with complex needs who have not been able to get the help they need. At Kings Cross, Sam has been the go-to officer to find ways around barriers and harness health and welfare support. Through early intervention, Sam has helped young people into education and employment and has been a key support for seniors' welfare in the community. My office has relied on Sam's commitment to helping vulnerable people and going way beyond the call of duty in his own time and using his own resources to help people. I thank Sam for his compassion, practical help and always being ready to make a positive difference.

Let's work together to celebrate and protect our great city!
