My submission on the details of the government's short term letting reforms called for a complete overhaul of regulations. The proposed regulations are weak and provide little oversight or enforcement, relying on self-regulation, including fire safety rules. Short term letting has a valid place in the economy, however a robust regulatory framework is needed to protect residents from unwanted impacts and maintain communities. My submission, HERE.
