In response to my request, the Minister for Water, Property and Housing says that Sirius Developments – buyers of the iconic Sirius building at The Rocks – will retain and refurbish the building, rather than demolish it. She says that the company could choose to include affordable housing units, but this is not guaranteed and we’ll need to review any development application. According to the minister, proceeds from the sale will contribute to up to 300 new social housing units, but we don’t know where or when these will be built. Her response is HERE.
