South East Buses
In response to community feedback, the government has made minor changes to the proposed South East Bus Changes to start from 5 December.
Many proposed changes will go ahead with tweaks, especially route changes to direct passengers to light rail, with extra costs when you change transport mode despite the $2 discount. Unfortunately there are no additional direct bus links from the south east to Kings Cross and Potts Point. My submission called for bus services through Taylor Square and Fitzroy/Foveaux streets to be maintained > HERE.
The major change is keeping 373 bus services that were to be withdrawn, which with the 396 will provide a direct link between the south east and Taylor Square and the city. Both services should operate every 10 minutes during the day and then 20 minutes at other times as part of an All Day Frequent Network (ADFN). Minor changes were made to many of the proposed routes to make transfers easier and reach desired destinations. In the Sydney electorate this includes the 389 bus route, extra 352 bus services and increased bus services to Green Square.
