SCG vs Moore Park
The new football stadium will be bigger and more imposing, host more events and move closer to Kippax Lake, putting Moore Park’s amenity and environment at risk. The building will be at its highest on Driver Avenue with two “grand” staircase entrances. I’m worried Moore Park will become an extension of the SCG with paved pathways and crowd spill. The sporting trust has made it clear that it wants event car parking on Moore Park to continue indefinitely, even though light rail will be operating when the new stadium opens. The new stadium will also dominate views from Paddington.
