The light rail project aims to create a vital fast and reliable transport option but the government must adopt stronger protections to stop the destruction of trees, tree canopy and wildlife in the parklands. Contractors appear to be making ad hoc decisions based on flawed methodology to fast track construction and I’ve asked the government to review the vegetation plan and increase oversight to ensure the much loved and historic Anzac Parade tree boulevard is not lost.
