Voluntary Assisted Dying

Voluntary Assisted Dying

Last week the Voluntary Assisted Dying Bill was introduced in the upper house by the Hon Adam Searle from Labor.

Adam is a cosponsor of the bill and is respected on all sides of Parliament. We are working together with the government and whips to get time in the house for debate and vote.

We know that the overwhelming majority of New South Wales residents support giving people who face a cruel and painful death the option to die with dignity surrounded by loved ones, but we cannot take it for granted that upper house members know how strongly people feel. The bill’s opponents are becoming increasingly active and thanks to a push from Vatican News, their online petition calling for the bill to be rejected is narrowly ahead of ours.

The time to show your support is now and I encourage you to sign our petition calling for the bill to pass, and sharing it within your networks > HERE.

Let's work together to celebrate and protect our great city!
