In Parliament I spoke against changes that could increase private access to floodplain water and reduce environmental flows. My speech is HERE. The Water Management bill included compensation for some types of water licences, which will make it difficult for governments to change access rights in the future. Our vital rivers and wetlands could be at risk especially if severe drought returns.
