Surry Hills residents have been calling for a new light rail stop at Wimbo Park since the service was planned.

An additional stop would benefit residents in eastern Surry Hills and link with the Bourke Street Public School, as well as residents of Redfern and Waterloo. While Transport of NSW did not agree to a stop at the time, the City of Sydney successfully negotiated for the design and construction of the route to accommodate easy installation. I recently raised the need for a stop at Wimbo Park with the new minister, Treasurer and Premier and am now sponsoring an ePetition to Parliament presented by the Lord Mayor and supported by local residents.
