Young Woman of the Year

Young Woman of the Year

Local resident Angelique Wan is a 2022 NSW Young Woman of the Year finalist for her work educating young people about consent and respectful relationships through Consent Labs.

The school consent training Angelique was given was so inadequate she developed her own program for school and university students. Consent Labs has delivered tailored peer-led workshops to more than 10,000 young people. They are now developing specific sessions for people with intellectual disability and their carers.

Angelique’s work is inspiring – and vital given the prevalence of sexual violence against girls and women. The massive community campaigns to address sexual assault and harassment have been led by young women and I congratulate Angelique and Consent Labs for making such a difference. Every young person needs this: HERE.

Let's work together to celebrate and protect our great city!
